Jed's 17th B-day

We woke up early saturday to go to the temple to do baptisms for the dead, and we had 18 youth show up and it was a great turnout and we had to be there at 6:15 A.M. and my family was in charge of the boy scout pow wow at 8:30 and my mom, dad and my sister liesl all had to teach classes because the real teachers coudn't come and so that was a long good to get done morning and so then we came home and strted to work on the yard and got alot of things done and then my mom and dad tried to get Jed out of the door to go somewere or do something and so people could show up and when he would come home there would be a surprise b-day party but no he didn't want to go anywere and we stayed up and played games and i got to play this kid and play some b-ball 1 on 1 with this kid named lucas who is 16 and I beat him 14 21 and that was my weekend.

This and next week

This past week I have had a border reveiw and passed, and so I can start working on my eagle project, I have already spent like 8 hours on finding measurements and reading about what I need to get approved and what obstacles I need to get built and try before project making day, and how far I should go along the river, should I go really far or do just a little bit. I have finished book2 of the history of us and reported on it. The last couple of days I have been riding my bike alot and making jumps and different kinds of obsacles in my front yard and really found that is a really really good small bike park and that just kind of gets me excited to start building my eagle project ride with other kids and not just always alone and riding by myself. [if you havent ridden by yourself you know that is kind of boring] I also have been trying to deceide what I should do this weekend. I have 2 choices, choice number 1: go skiing at snow basin for two days with most of my family, or, I could go on a campout and build snow caves with my gradpa val. I am not sure what I should really sure I should do because they both are fun and sound really fun but I'm just not sure.

Basketball Tryouts

This past week I have been playing alot of basketball. It was 7th grade tryouts and the first day I went at 2 O'clock and started playing and I met a kid and he was going to tryouts that night to. Night came and went on and I had a very good night and made the first cut, but tuesday I didn't play as well and I went to a merit badge class and got the merit badge done and I am VERY worried and that night was long and morning came and my mom and dad just got back from a run and my mom took me and talked to CoachB. and he told me that I had gott'en cut and he told me that he didn't have any control what the cuts were, and who was on the team, and he thought that I had played really really good, and that he wasn't sure why thay cut me. So was very sad and discouraged and my mom was comforting me and then we got home and I can't concentrate on anything, all that I could think about was basketball, and what I need to improve on and what i did wrong and so went and called Blake Barney and asked if he had made the team and they said yes and that made me even sadderand so i went out just went outside and shot hoops and dribbled and shot left had and made alot of them.

Best of E.F.Y.

last saturday i had the chance to go to the best of E.F.Y and the speaker's that came to it were Br. Jacobs and he asked the question: what do you beleive? and talked about his missionary companion and how when he and his companion were in the air port and plane and Br. jacobs asked: rex has anybody in your family been converted yet? and rex said: no but i am going to try and convert the bishop and if i can convert him my family will follow him. And Br. jacobs said: you do that. and 15 years later he was speaking in southern california and and about 3/4 the way back there is rex and stops in mid sentance and says: rex!! is that you? and rex said: yes but can we talk later? sure and so rex asked Br. Jacobs to come to his house and he says sure and he takes him there and shows him his family and Br. Jacobs asked: rex, has anybody in your family become a member yet? and said: no,
i hope that we can be a example and Know that we know that this is true.

Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley Passes away

Most people know that Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley past away last night and i am so gratful for him, and his passing not of sickness or of heart atack but of old age and knowing that he did so many good things that it is not a sorrow of sadness but but of happiness of knowing that we will see him again and that he is with heavenly father and Jeusus Christ and most importantly his wife and his parents, thankyou Pres. Hinkley for helping me become a preistood holder and a better Brother [I hope].
